Covid-19 Statement

June 2020

We hope this letter finds you and your family in good health. Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety.

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff.

  • Use stairs option to office to avoid long elevator line as fewer riders are allowed. Please ask building concierge for stairs access at entry
  • Each person enters the building and dental office must wear a face covering (CDC recommendation)
  • Continue to take symptoms survey and temperature readings on all individuals walking into the office. Our team will be screened daily in the same manner as the patients
  • Rinse with a 1.5% hydrogen peroxide solution, which inactivates the virus, before your procedure
  • HEPA air filtration with UVC light in every room
  • Additional high power suction devices to minimize aerosol during procedures
  • Continue on what has always been a rigorous and strict set of sterilization standards and hygiene protocols on all our treatment tools
  • Continue to reinforce personal protective equipments (N95 masks, face shields and gloves) for myself and staff
  • Increased frequency in cleaning and sanitization efforts in common areas such as rest room keys, door handles, tabletops, and surfaces
  • Available hand sanitizer stations at entry and in every treatment room
  • Remove all reading materials at reception areas which can’t be easily disinfected
  • Please come to appointment by yourself and arrive as close to your appointment time as possible, as our waiting space is limited. The patient will be the only one allowed in office, unless accompanying a minor or a patient needing assistance
  • Take social distancing precautionary measures, such as avoiding handshakes
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment
  • Additional day porter who sanitizes all high-touch surfaces throughout the day here at the 450 Sutter Building

We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. By confirming your appointment, you acknowledge that you’re free of any COVID-19 symptoms and have not been exposed to anyone you know who has. If you like to modify your upcoming appointment or to schedule a new one, please call our office at 415-397-1004 or visit our website.

Thank you for being our patients. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming back our patients, neighbors and friends.

Please stay safe and healthy,
Dr. Katherine Vo Cook
